A method for use in a distributed network (32) for processing a knowbot program (60) that has the ability to move from node to node in the distributed network (32). In the method, a knowbot operating environment (50) in each of the nodes provides service facilities useful to the knowbot program (60). And, in the knowbot operating environment (50), a supervisor process (42) is run that enables the knowbot program (60) to make use of the service facilities but does not permit direct access by the knowbot program (60) to facilities of the knowbot operating environment (50).

Procédé pour exécuter un programme de référence (60) capable de se déplacer d'un noeud à l'autre dans un système d'informatique répartie (32). Dans ce procédé, le contexte d'exploitation (50) de chacun des noeuds offre des fonctions de service utiles au programme de référence (60). Une opération de supervision (42) se déroule en outre dans le contexte d'exploitation (50), permettant au programme de référence (60) d'utiliser les fonctions de service mais ne lui permettant pas d'accéder directement aux fonctions du contexte d'exploitation (50).
