A system for electronic commerce relating to house plans, including the provision of house plans to builders via the Internet, with the system characterized such that it includes a central control unit, a Web server that is connected to the Internet, and a database having four areas ~ the first area containing data concerning architects who are registered with the system; the second area containing the house plans offered by the architects; the third area containing data relating to various building materials; and the fourth area containing data regarding home builders who are registered with the system ~ so that the central control unit operates so as (1) to input into the second area house plans offered from the Web sites of the architects, (2) to input into the third area a list of the building materials, including various materials-related data offered from the Web sites of materials providers, and to deliver to builders house plans or materials data in response to builders requests submitted via the Internet.
