A system for powering various rotating vehicle accessories such as an alternator, a transmission fluid pump (18), a power steering pump (16), and an air-conditioning compressor (14) from the torque converter (27) of an automatic transmission. The system utilises the smooth speed characteristic of the automatic transmission torque converter (27) to achieve an equally smooth accessory drive ratio transition. The system may also be used to power the accessories using a manual transmission.
