A system for the use of energy from ocean and river currents is disclosed. This system consists of two main components, a turbine and a nozzle, which are constituted by a main vertical axis. Extending from this axis in radial form are three pairs of arms. These pairs of arms are separated from each other by 120 degrees in a horizontal plane. The ends of the arms are joined by two rings, which are parallel to each other in a vertical plane. Between the two rings there is the number of rectangular blades with vertical free articulated movement, having as reference its major dimension. The circular motion of the blades is limited between 30 and 120 degrees in respect of the radial direction of the main vertical axis. The nozzle has a cylinder form containing a set of slots and walls that allow leading of the water in an optimal direction to produce maximum torque in the system of blades. The system also contains two floodgates, an entrance gate and exit gate, located in the nozzle.
