A table (1) is described which comprises a tabletop (2) having a recess for providing a working area, the horizontal outline of the tabletop being partly coincident with an imaginary right-angled quadrilateral such as a rectangle or a square, wherein the tabletop (2) has two diagonally opposite, right-angled, equilateral, similarly shaped corner sections having sides of different lengths (A, C) which form a part of the sides of the quadrilateral, the rectilinear corner edges adjoining the edge portions which follow a curve or line that severs the diagonally opposite corner sections of the right-angled imaginary quadrilateral, in such manner that the imaginary corner sections form the recess (6). The use of the table in a table assembly is also described.
L'invention concerne une table (1) comprenant un plateau (2) de table pourvu d'un évidement qui constitue une zone de travail, le périmètre horizontal dudit plateau coïncidant en partie avec un quadrilatère imaginaire à angles droits, tel qu'un rectangle ou un carré. Le plateau (2) possède deux coins de forme similaire, équilatéraux, à angle droit et diagonalement opposés, ayant des côtés de longueurs différentes (A, C), qui constituent une partie des côtés dudit quadrilatère. Les bords rectilignes des coins rejoignent les parties de bord qui suivent une courbe ou une ligne coupant les coins diagonalement opposés dudit quadrilatère imaginaire, de telle manière que ces coins imaginaires forment l'évidement (6). L'invention concerne également l'utilisation de cette table dans un ensemble.
