An adapter for an introducer (14) comprises a medical device having a tubular port on a proximal end such as a splittable hemostatic valve (12). A tubular fitting (16) is provided on a proximal end of the introducer (14). An elastomeric member (28) is disposed between the port of the medical device and the tubular fitting of the introducer for providing a fluid tight and mechanically secure connection therebetween. The introducer and valve are manually connectable and reconnectable with each other while maintaining the fluid tight connection between them. A side port (40) may communicate with the hemostatic valve, the side port having a controllable valve ending (42). In the preferred embodiment the introducer comprises a splittable introducer and may be torqueable. A tab (22) extends from the tubular fitting of the introducer to facilitate manual manipulation of the tubular fitting and the tab is used to rotate the introducer.
L'invention concerne un adaptateur d'introducteur comprenant un dispositif médical comportant un orifice tubulaire sur une extrémité proximale tel qu'une valve hémostatique divisible. Un raccord tubulaire est disposé à une extrémité proximale de l'introducteur. Un élément en élastomère est positionné entre l'orifice du dispositif médical et le raccord tubulaire de l'introducteur assurant entre eux une connexion mécaniquement sûre et étanche aux liquides. L'introducteur et la valve sont connectables manuellement et peuvent être reconnectés l'un avec l'autre tout en maintenant entre eux une connexion étanche aux liquides. Un orifice latéral peut communiquer avec la valve hémostatique, cet orifice contenant une terminaison de valve réglable. Dans le mode de réalisation préféré, l'introducteur comprend un introducteur divisible. Dans le mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, l'élément en élastomère assure un ajustement glissant entre le dispositif médical et le raccord tubulaire de l'introducteur. Une languette s'étend du raccord tubulaire de l'introducteur afin de faciliter une manipulation manuelle du raccord tubulaire. Dans le mode de réalisation préféré, l'introducteur peut être soumis à un couple et on utilise la languette afin de faire tourner l'introducteur.
