A thickener for concentration of a fibre pulp suspension, comprises a rotatable screen member (4) having screen passages dimensioned for separating the fibre suspension into a first fraction that passes through the screen member and substantially contains fibres and a second fraction that does not pass through the screen member and contains coarse undesired particles. A stationary thickening member (9) with a multiplicity of through holes surrounds the screen member and separates the created first fraction into a third fraction passing through the thickening member, and a fourth fraction not passing through the thickening member. The holes of the thickening member (9) are dimensioned such that liquid but not fibres is permitted to pass through the thickening member, whereby the fourth fraction of the fibre suspension produced during operation is constituted by concentrated fibre pulp free from undesired coarse particles.
L'invention concerne un épaississeur pour une concentration de suspension de pâte fibreuse, comprenant un élément tamis rotatif (4) doté de passages de tamisage dimensionnés pour séparer la suspension fibreuse en une première fraction qui traverse l'élément tamis et qui contient sensiblement des fibres et en une seconde fraction qui ne traverse pas l'élément tamis et qui contient des particules grossières indésirables. Un élément épaississeur stationnaire (9) possédant une multiplicité d'orifices traversants entoure l'élément tamis et sépare la première fraction créée en une troisième fraction traversant l'élément épaississeur, et en une quatrième fraction ne traversant pas l'élément épaississeur. Les orifices de l'élément épaississeur (9) sont dimensionnés de manière que le liquide mais pas les fibres traverse l'élément épaississeur, la quatrième fraction de la suspension fibreuse produite pendant l'opération étant constituée d'une pâte fibreuse concentrée exempte de particules grossières indésirables.
