The present invention relates to a human gene encoding a polypeptide that is a member of the cytochrome P450 family. More specifically, the present invention relates to a polynucleotide encoding a human polypeptide named cytochrome P450TEC (Thymus Expressed Cytochrome). This invention also relates to P450TEC polypeptides, as well as vectors, host cells, and antibodies directed to P450TEC polypeptides, and the recombinant methods for producing the same. Also provided are therapeutic methods for treating P450TEC-related disorders. The invention further relates to screening methods for identifying agonists and antagonists of P450TEC activity.
L'invention concerne un nouveau gène humain codant pour un polypeptide faisant partie de la famille du cytochrome P450. Plus particulièrement, la présente invention concerne un polynucléotide codant pour un nouveau polypeptide humain appelé cytochrome P450TEC. L'invention concerne également les polypeptides P450TEC, ainsi que les vecteurs, les cellules hôtes et les anticorps destinés aux polypeptides P450TEC, ainsi que des méthodes de recombinaison permettant de les fabriquer. On décrit également des méthodes thérapeutiques permettant de traiter des troubles associés au P450TEC, ainsi que des méthodes de criblage permettant d'identifier les agonistes et les antagonistes présentant une activité P450TEC.
