A token process including storing transaction data for purchase of a product, generating a token for redemption of the product, providing access to the token over a communications network, and sending the token to a handheld device on receipt of a request for the token, the token being readable from the handheld device by a reading device at point of provision of the product. A handheld device including wireless communication means for receiving ticket data, the ticket data adapted to generate a visual display on said handheld device readable by a reading device to redeem a product corresponding to the ticket.

Cette invention a trait à un procédé en rapport avec des jetons, consistant à stocker des données de transaction relatives à l'acquisition d'un produit, à produire un jeton servant au remboursement du produit, à établir un accès à ce jeton sur un réseau de communications et à envoyer ce jeton à une unité portative à réception d'une demande relative à ce jeton. Le jeton peut être lu dans l'unité portative par un système de lecture à l'endroit de fourniture du produit. L'invention concerne également une unité portative équipée de moyens de communication sans fil permettant de recevoir des données relatives à des tickets, ces données étant à même de permettre un affichage visuel sur ladite unité qu'un dispositif de lecture peut lire et ce, afin de rembourser un produit correspondant au ticket.
