This invention provides a material capable of giving durable water repellency anti glow to objects to be polished with the material, which includes a water-repellent non-woven fabric layer comprising hydrophilic fibers and hydrophobic fibers combined in a weight ratio of the hydrophilic fibers to hydrophobic fibers being within the range of 3:7-7:3, these fibers being impregnated with a water-repellent component, or comprising hydrophobic fibers impregnated with a mater-repellent component and a surfactant. Only wiping washed car bodies with the material of this invention gives high and durable waxing effects to the car bodies.
