There is provided a tubular workpiece for blow-molding into an inflatable balloon component. The tubular workpiece is a raw tube having a lumen and composed of a thermoplastic polymer, the tube having an asymmetric wall thickness such that when the tube is preheated in a mold to a temperature sufficient to soften the material of the tube and inflated with a gas to generally uniformly stretch the material of the tube, the tube forms a balloon component. The balloon may be non-uniform in wall thickness depending on the type of mold used. The balloon may be attached according to conventional means to a hollow tube to produce a tracheostomy device.

L'invention concerne une pièce tubulaire conçue pour être transformée en composant ballonnet gonflable par moulage par soufflage. Cette pièce tubulaire est constituée d'un tube brut qui comprend une lumière et est composée d'un polymère thermoplastique. Le tube présente une épaisseur de paroi asymétrique de façon que, lorsqu'il est préchauffé dans un moule à une température suffisante pour ramollir le matériau qui le compose et qu'il gonflé à l'aide d'un gaz pour étirer de manière uniforme le matériau qui le compose, ledit tube forme un composant ballonnet. Le ballonnet peut présenter une épaisseur de paroi non uniforme en fonction du type de moule utilisé. Le ballonnet peut être relié selon des moyens classiques à un tube creux pour produire un dispositif de trachéotomie.
