Disclosed are compounds of the formula: Image (wherein one of X1 and X2 is an electron-attracting group with the other being a hydrogen atom or an electron-attracting group; R2 is a group attached through a carbon, nitrogen or oxygen atom; n is an integer equal to 0, 1 or 2; A° is a heterocyclic group; z is halogen or -S-R5 , and R5 is a C1-5 alkyl group or a C7-9 aralkyl group), or a salt thereof. These compounds or their salts are useful for producing .alpha.-unsaturated amines of the formula: Image (wherein X1, X2, R2, n and A° are as defined above; and R1 is a group attached through a nitrogen atom) and salts thereof which are useful in the agrochemical field as insecticidal and/or miticidal agents.
