A utensil (10) for opening a shell of a crustacean, such as crab (60), lobster and the like, has a pair of pivotally connected elongated members (12, 14). Each elongate member (12, 14) has a handle portion (18, 20) and a head portion (22, 24). A cutting blade (40, 42) is positioned in each of the head portions (22, 24); the cutting blades (40, 42) are selectively brought in contact with the shelled crustacean (60) positioned between the blades (40, 42) to sever the shell (60) along a selected cut line without damaging the meat of the crustacean (60).

L'invention concerne un ustensile destiné à ouvrir une carapace de crustacé - crabe, homard et analogue - comprenant une paire d'éléments de forme allongée reliés pivotant. Chacun des éléments de forme allongée comporte une partie poignée et une partie tête. Dans chaque partie tête est disposée une lame de coupe. Les lames de coupe sont amenées sélectivement en contact avec la carapace de crustacé disposées entre elles et la sectionnent le long de la ligne de coupe choisie sans endommager la chair du crustacé.
