A luminal valve such as an esophageal valve (301) for placing in a body lumen comprises at least four valve leaflets (303). The valve (301) has a normally closed configuration in which the leaflets (303) are engaged and an open configuration in which the leaflets (303) are open. The valve (300) may be mounted to an esophageal support (350).
