A vehicle anti-theft device (10) comprises an on-board cellular phone transceiver unit (14) that provides a two-way communications link, via a GSM- based telephone network, with an authorised user of the vehicle fitted with the device. The device (10) includes sensing means (72) for sensing a condition, the condition typically either being an alarm condition such as the unauthorized entry into the vehicle or an alert condition informing the user of a status of the vehicle or unit. The device (10) further includes a plurality of vehicle immobilizing devices (22) for immobilizing the vehicle. The transceiver unit (14) is arranged to transmit an alarm signal or an alert signal to the authorised user so as to inform the user of the condition, with the unit (14) in turn being responsive to a remote command signal emanating from the user. Typically, the device (10) includes a voice module (54) for providing voice prompts to the user via the telephone network, with the user then providing the command signals in response to the voice prompts.
L'invention se rapporte à un dispositif antivol (10) pour véhicule comportant une unité (14) émettrice-réceptrice de téléphone cellulaire, embarquée, qui assure une liaison bidirectionnelle, par l'intermédiaire d'un réseau téléphonique GSM, avec un utilisateur autorisé du véhicule équipé dudit dispositif. Ce dispositif (10) comporte un organe de détection (72) conçu pour détecter une situation particulière, ladite situation étant généralement une situation d'alarme telle que celle correspondant à une pénétration non autorisée dans le véhicule ou une situation d'alerte indiquant à l'utilisateur un statut du véhicule ou de l'unité. Ce dispositif (10) comporte également une pluralité de dispositifs d'immobilisation (22) du véhicule. L'unité émettrice-réceptrice (14) est conçue pour émettre un signal d'alarme ou un signal d'alerte à destination de l'utilisateur autorisé afin d'informer ce dernier de la situation, l'unité (14) réagissant à son tour à un signal de commande à distance émanant de l'utilisateur. Généralement, le dispositif (10) comporte un module vocal (54) délivrant des messages vocaux à l'utilisateur par l'intermédiaire du réseau téléphonique, l'utilisateur fournissant alors des signaux de commande en réponse aux messages vocaux.
