A ventilator apparatus (10) is disclosed for supplying air from a source of pressurized air (12) between a dryer (14) and a web (W) supported by a felt (F) extending around a roll (16) of a single tier drying section (18). The apparatus includes a housing (20) which is connected to the source of pressurized air. The housing defines a nozzle (22) for directing a flow therethrough of a current of air (24). The flow is directed from the nozzle towards a diverging nip (DN) defined between the dryer and the web supported by the felt when the felt diverges away from the dryer prior to the felt extending around the roll. The arrangement is such that the flow of air compensates for an underpressure generated by the felt when diverging away from the dryer so that fluttering of the web is inhibited.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de ventilation (10), conçu pour fournir de l'air à partir d'une source d'air sous pression (12), entre un séchoir (14) et une toile (W) soutenue par un feutre (F) s'étendant autour d'un cylindre (16) d'une section de séchage (18) à une seule rangée. Ce dispositif comprend un logement (20) relié à la source d'air sous pression. Le logement délimite une buse (22) destinée à diriger à travers elle un écoulement d'un courant d'air (24). Cet écoulement est dirigé depuis la buse, vers une ligne de contact divergeante (DN) entre le séchoir et la toile soutenue par le feutre, lorsque ce dernier s'éloigne du séchoir avant de s'enrouler autour du cylindre. Cet agencement est tel que l'écoulement d'air compense une pression réduite produite par le feutre lorsque celui-ci s'éloigne du séchoir, de façon à empêcher la toile de flotter.
