A viscous heater is provided which can attain the improvement of heating efficiency while preventing the leakage of a viscous fluid ascribed to the expansion thereof. To form such a viscous heater, a flat disc type rotor (15) is employed, and a housing is formed by a front housing body (1), a front plate (2) a rear plate (3) and a rear housing body (4), these parts being assembled and fastened to one another by through bolts (7). The front plate (2) is provided with a recessed surplus space (11) communicating at its outer circumferential portion with a heating chamber (8) between respective through bolts (7) and water passages (10).

On décrit un chauffage à viscosité permettant d'améliorer l'efficacité de chauffage tout en empêchant la fuite du fluide visqueux, inhérente à l'expansion de celui-ci. Afin de former un tel chauffage, on utilise un rotor (15) du type disque plat ainsi qu'un logement constitué par un corps avant (1), une plaque avant (2), une plaque arrière (3) et un corps arrière (4), ces éléments étant assemblés les uns aux autres au moyen de boulons traversants (7). La plaque avant (2) est pourvue d'un espace supplémentaire (11) ménagé par évidement et communiquant au niveau de la portion périphérique extérieure de cette plaque avec une chambre de chauffage (8) sise entre des boulons traversants (7) et des passages à eau (10).
