The invention refers to a self-supporting weather proof dome to envelop outdoor objects, the dome being of a material and structure that maintains the shape of the dome and clearance between the dome and the objects whereby the dome comprises an inner structure (11) that withstands external pressure forces and an outer structure (12) that through pulling forces on the outer structure holds the inner structure together, which outer (12) and inner (11) structures are not bonded to each other and at least the outer structure is attachable to a base mount. With an embodyment of the invention, the dome (11- 12) consists of an inner structure made of form rigid cellular plastic (11), with an enveloped outer structure (12) consisting of an UV-resistant, plastic fabric wind-stopper. The invention also refers to the use of such a dome and a method for protecting outdoor objects.
L'invention concerne un dôme autoporteur à l'épreuve des intempéries servant à envelopper des objets situés à l'extérieur. Ce dôme est constitué d'une matière et présente une structure telles qu'il conserve sa forme en restant à une certaine distance des objets qu'il enveloppe. Le dôme comprend une structure intérieure (11) qui résiste aux forces de pression externes et une structure extérieure (12) qui, du fait qu'elle est soumise à des forces de traction, fait que la structure intérieure reste cohérente. La structure extérieure (12) et la structure intérieure (11) ne sont pas liées l'une à l'autre, et au moins la structure extérieure peut être fixée à un support de base. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, le dôme (11-12) est constitué d'une structure intérieure en plastique cellulaire (11) rigide et d'une structure extérieure (12) enveloppante réalisée en un matériau coupe-vent plastique résistant au UV. L'invention concerne également l'utilisation d'un tel dôme et un procédé de protection d'objets placés à l'extérieur.
