Disclosed are A3 adenosine receptor antagonists and/or partial agonists of formula (I): wherein R1 to R5 are as described herein, as well as pharmaceutical compositions thereof and methods of use thereof. The antagonists or partial agonists find use in treating a number of diseases including cancer, glaucoma, inflammatory diseases, asthma, stroke, myocardial infarction, allergic reactions, rhinitis, poison ivy induced responses, urticaria, scleroderma, arthritis, brain arteriole diameter constriction, bronchoconstriction, and myocardial ischemia, as well as in preventing cardiac ischemia. Also disclosed are radiolabeled compounds of formula (I) and the use thereof in diagnostic imaging of tissues and organs.

L'invention porte sur des antagonistes et agonistes partiels des récepteurs de l'adénosine A3, représentés par la formule (I) : dans laquelle R1 à R5 sont tels que décrits ici, ainsi que sur des compositions pharmaceutiques les contenant et sur leurs procédés d'utilisation. Les antagonistes ou agonistes partiels trouvent une utilité dans le traitement d'un nombre de maladies composant le cancer, le glaucome, les maladies inflammatoires, l'asthme, un accident vasculaire cérébral, un infarctus du myocarde, les réactions allergiques, la rhinite, des réponses induites par le sumac vénéneux, l'urticaire, la sclérodermie, l'arthrite, la constriction du diamètre des artérioles cérébrales, une bronchoconstriction et une ischémie myocardique, ainsi que dans la prévention d'une ischémie cardiaque.
