ABSTRACT An above-ground burial system receiving cremated remains in a burial container is described. The burial system contains a monument in which is cut at least one open-ended cavity to receive the container. The orifice of the cavity is on the bottom side of the monument. The cavity is sealed by placing the monument on a base which forms the bottom surface of the cavity.
