ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A weatherable coating composition, especially for imparting abrasion resistance to thermoplastic substrates, comprising about 30-50 parts by weight of a colloidal silica and about 50 to 70 parts by weight of a mixture of (i) dialkyl- dialkoxysilane and (ii) alkyl trialkoxysilane wherein the weight ratio of (i) to (ii) is about 1:19 to about 1:4. A method of applying the coating composition to a substrate and coated articles are also disclosed.
