An abrasion resistant nonwoven fabric for fire blocking an article such as a mattress, comprising a layer of fibers comprising a mixture of crimped, heat-resistant organic fibers and thermoplastic binder fibers compressed on a spunbonded thermoplastic nonwoven sheet; the layer of fibers being held in a compressed state and to the spunbonded sheet solely by the adhesion of the thermoplastic binder fibers to the heat-resistant organic fibers and to the spunbonded sheet; and wherein when the fabric is exposed to heat or flame, the fabric increases in thickness by at least one and one half times.
L'invention concerne un tissu non tissé résistant à l'abrasion pour permettre à un article, tel qu'un matelas, de résister à la flamme. Le tissu comprend une couche de fibres comprenant un mélange de fibres organiques résistant à la chaleur, crêpées, et de fibres liantes thermoplastiques comprimées sur une feuille non tissée thermoplastique filée-liée ; la couche de fibres étant maintenue dans un état comprimé et à la feuille filée-liée uniquement par l'adhésion des fibres liantes thermoplastiques aux fibres organiques résistant à la chaleur et à la feuille filée-liée ; et, lorsque le tissu est exposé à la chaleur ou à une flamme, le tissu augmente en épaisseur d'au moins une à une fois et demi.
