An apparatus for etching a workpiece in which a first abrasive particulate material, for example aluminium oxide, and a second particulate material, for example glass dust, are entrained together in a stream of gas. The apparatus recycles exhaust particulate material by introducing it into said gas stream, the exhaust particulate material including particulate material removed from the workpiece by the action of the gas stream with entrained particulate material. The apparatus is particularly suited for etching toughened glass.
La présente invention se rapporte à un appareil permettant de graver une pièce à travailler, dans lequel une première matière particulaire abrasive, par exemple de l'oxyde d'aluminium, et une seconde matière particulaire, par exemple de la poussière de verre, sont entraînées ensemble dans un écoulement gazeux. L'appareil selon l'invention recycle la matière particulaire d'évacuation, en l'introduisant dans ledit écoulement gazeux, ladite matière particulaire d'évacuation contenant une matière particulaire extraite de la pièce à travailler sous l'action de l'écoulement gazeux contenant la matière particulaire entraînée. L'appareil selon l'invention convient particulièrement à la gravure de verre trempé.
