Previously known bonded abrasive compositions based on polyurethane binders, while effective for many abrasive uses, may tend to smear onto the workpiece. Bonded abrasive compositions of the present invention, and articles incorporating same, comprise abrasive particles dispersed throughout and adhered within an elastomeric polyurea matrix. The polyurea matrix is formed from the polymerization reaction product of a polyfunctional amine and an isocyanate. The compositions of the inven- tion exhibit excellent smear- and wear-resistance, and may be attached to a variety of backings. One preferred backing is integral- ly molded to the bonded abrasive composition.
