An abrasive flap brush including a central core, a layer of adhesive disposed on the peripheral surface of the core by a coater, and a plurality of abrasive flaps adhered to the core by the adhesive. The adhesive is uniformly distributed around the core by providing either the core or the adhesive coater with spacing projections that maintain a predetermined minimum distance between the coater and the core when the adhesive is applied. A coater including the spacing projections is also disclosed, as is a method for making an abrasive flap brush.
Brosse à volets abrasifs comportant un noyau central, une couche d'adhésif répartie sur la surface externe du noyau au moyen d'un enduit et un certain nombre de volets abrasifs collés au noyau à l'aide de cet adhésif. Ce dernier est réparti uniformément autour du noyau grâce au moyen d'éléments d'espacement protubérants dans le noyau ou l'enduit adhésif qui permettent de laisser une distance minimale prédéterminée entre l'enduit et le noyau lorsqu'on applique l'adhésif. Cette invention se rapporte également à un enduit contenant ces protubérances d'espacement, ainsi qu'à une méthode de fabrication de brosse abrasive à volets.
