The object of the present invention is the use of silicas as abrasive agents in toothpaste compositions, said silicas having: I) a BET specific surface area in the range of 20 to 75 m?2¿/g; ii) a CTAB specific surface area in the range of 16 to 45 m?2¿/g; iii) an RDA abrasiveness in the range of 120 to 160; iv) a refractive index in the range of 1.435 to 1.450; v) a DOP oil absorption value in the range of 70 to 105 ml/100g; vi) a compatibility of at least 50 % with organic amino compounds. The invention also provides a process for producing said silicas and the toothpaste compositions containing them.

L'invention concerne des silices, utilisables comme agents abrasifs dans les compositions dentifrices, présentant: i) une surface spécifique BET comprise entre 20 et 75 m2/g, ii) une surface spécifique CTAB comprise entre 16 et 45 m2/g, iii) une abrasivité RDA comprise entre 120 et 160, iv) un indice de réfraction compris entre 1,435 et 1,450, v) une prise d'huile DOP comprise entre 70 et 105 ml/100g, vi) une compatibilité avec les composés organiques aminés d'au moins 50 %. Elle concerne également un procédé de préparation desdites silices et les compositions dentifrices les contenant.
