ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An abrasive tool utilizes a bed of discrete elements secured to a tool substrate. The bed of discrete elements provides intersticial spaces between the elements for mounting receipt, for example by brazing, of a monolayer of abrasive particles, such as diamonds. The abrasive particles extend outwardly of the bed to form the abrading elements of the tool.
