The present invention relates to plant enzymes responsible for hydroxylation of abscisic acid, said enzymes capable of 7'- and 8'- hydroxylation of abscisic acid, and polynucleotides encoding the same. The invention further relates to methods for using said polynucleotides to alter plant metabolism, in particular metabolism of abscisic acid. The invention further relates to plants exhibiting altered characteristics as a result of the alteration of abscisic acid metabolism.
La présente invention concerne des enzymes végétales responsables de l'hydroxylation de l'acide abscisique et capables de réaliser la 7'- et 8'-hydroxylation de l'acide abscisique, ainsi que des polynucléotides codant pour ces enzymes. L'invention se rapporte en outre à des méthodes d'utilisation de ces polynucléotides pour modifier le métabolisme végétal, et notamment le métabolisme de l'acide abscisique. Ladite invention porte enfin sur des plantes présentant des caractéristiques modifiées en raison d'une modification du métabolisme de l'acide abscisique.
