- 10 - Abstract of the Disclosure An absolute pressure sensor applies repetitive vibrational impulses to a gaseous volume maintained at the average pressure of the ambient. The differential pressure between the compressed and noncompressed conditions of the gaseous volume is proportional to the absolute ambient pressure. Thus, absolute ambient pressure can be determined without a need to maintain a reference pressure.
