An absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer includes a topsheet, a backsheet joined to at least a portion of the topsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core includes a first layer and a second layer, wherein the first layer is disposed in fluid communication with the second layer. The first layer has a first shape and the second layer has a second shape. The first shape is different from the second shape. Each of the first layer and second layer comprise less than about 20 percent airfelt.

La présente invention concerne un article absorbant destiné à être porté sur le torse inférieur d'un utilisateur, cet article absorbant comprenant une couche supérieure, une couche inférieure reliée à au moins une partie de la couche supérieure et une âme absorbante située entre les couches supérieure et inférieure. L'âme absorbante comprend des première et deuxième couches, ladite première couche étant disposée de sorte que le fluide circule entre les deux couches. Les première et deuxième couches ont toutes les deux une forme spécifique différente. Chacune des première et deuxième couches renferme moins d'environ 20 pour cent de pulpe de bois broyée.
