An absorbent article is described which comprises a fluid-receiving layer (6) having a high bulkiness of at least 15 cm3/g, as measured under a pressure of 2 KPa. This is in fluid communication with a fluid-storage layer (7) to which the layer (16) releases substantially all of the fluid which it receives. The layer (6) is preferably in the form of an airlaid web of synthetic, staple fibers. The layer (7) is preferably a cellulose/hydrogel laminate. The article can be provided with a fluid-permeable topsheet and a fluid-impermeable backsheet, and is particularly suitable for use by women suffering from light incontinence.

Article absorbant comprenant une couche (6) de réception de fluide d'une masse volumique élevée d'au moins 15 cm<3>/g, telle que mesurée à une pression de 2 kPa. Cette couche est mise en communication fluidique avec une couche (7) de retenue de fluide, dans laquelle la couche (16) libère pratiquement tout le fluide qu'elle reçoit. La couche (6) se présente de préférence sous la forme d'une nappe, appliquée par jet d'air, de fibres discontinues synthétiques. La couche (7) est de préférence composée d'un stratifié cellulose/hydrogel. L'article peut également présenter une feuille supérieure perméable aux fluides et une feuille de support imperméable aux fluides, et convient particulièrement à des femmes souffrant d'une légère incontinence.
