An absorbent article (10) and method are disclosed for providing side leakage protection for an undergarment and absorbent article positioning guidance for proper placement on the undergarment. An absorbent configured to fit the pudendal region of a woman and a liquid-impermeable baffle (16) are provided with multiple pairs of garment-attachment nesting ridges (32, 34) for receiving an arcuately shaped crotch portion of an undergarment. Arcuately shaped pleats on a bottom lateral side surface of the absorbent article form the nesting ridges. In one embodiment, a pressure sensitive adhesive in each nesting ridge provides force to support the nesting ridge holding the undergarment in place during use. In one aspect, the absorbent article provides three or more garment-attachment nesting ridge pairs. In one aspect, the arcuately shaped pleats are formed in a bottom layer polyethylene/polypropylene bi-component web sheet material.
L'invention concerne un article absorbant (10) et un procédé associé, servant à protéger latéralement un sous-vêtement contre toute fuite et à guider le placement correct de l'article absorbant sur le sous-vêtement. Elle concerne notamment un article absorbant, conçu pour épouser la région vulvaire de la femme, ainsi qu'un écran étanche aux liquides (16), de même que plusieurs paires de crêtes de fixation (32, 34) sur le sous-vêtement, destinées à recevoir une portion de fourche de forme arquées du sous-vêtement. Des plis de forme arquée, situés sur une surface latérale inférieure de l'article absorbant forment lesdites crêtes. Dans un mode de réalisation, un autocollant placé sur chaque crête constitue la force de support de la crête destinée à maintenir le sous-vêtement en place lors de l'utilisation de l'article. Dans un autre aspect, l'article absorbant présente au moins trois paires de crêtes servant à la fixation sur le sous-vêtement de l'article. Dans un encore autre aspect, les plis de forme arquées sont formées dans une couche de matériau en feuille à deux constituants polyéthylène/polypropylène.
