Provided are an absorptive article which has a high fitness on a wearer and which suppresses the positional displacement of an absorbing structure, and a manufacturing method for the absorptive article. The absorptive article comprises the absorbing structure (2), a chassis, to which the absorbing structure (2) is to be jointed, and first elastic members (6) attached in elongation to the chassis, while crossing an absorbing structure region (4) in a body crossing direction, and extending linearly to the two sides of the absorbing structure (2). The chassis is made substantially inextensible, and the elongations of the first elastic members (6) are low in the absorbing structure region (4) and in first side regions (5a) individually adjacent to the two outer sides of the absorbing structure region (4) and vary continuously, while being kept higher than that of the first side regions (5a), as they go apart from the individual first side regions (5a) to the individual side edges (15) of the chassis. In the method for manufacturing the absorptive article, the first elastic members (6) are fed at such a rate to the chassis fed at a constant rate as is periodically varied, and are jointed to the chassis.
