Absorbent structure in an absorbent article such as a diaper, sanitary napkin, incontinence guard, wound dressing, bed protection, etc., said structure containing a superabsorbent material possibly in combination with other absorption- or carrier materials and where the superabsorbent material has a content of renewable and/or biodegradable raw material of at least 20 % by weight, calculated on the dry weight of superabsorbent material, and has a phase angle .delta.~8° defined as the phase shift between deformation and strain measured at rheological measurements.
