Disclosed is an absorbent article having a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet joined to the topsheet, and an absorbent core positioned therebetween, in which the absorbent core is enveloped by a primary core integrity layer comprising a continuous mesh of strands of thermoplastic material which is joined to the topsheet and/or the backsheet. The primary core integrity layer is particularly useful for improving the wet integrity of absorbent cores comprising an upper aquisition/distribution layer and a lower storage layer.

Article absorbant possédant une feuille supérieure perméable aux liquides, une feuille dorsale imperméable aux liquides et fixée à la feuille supérieure, et un noyau absorbant intercalé entre ces deux feuilles et enveloppé d'une couche primaire d'intégrité de noyau comportant une maille continue de fils en matière thermoplastique, cette maille étant fixée à la feuille supérieure et/ou à la feuille dorsale. La couche primaire d'intégrité de noyau sert notamment à améliorer l'intégrité à l'état humide des noyaux absorbants comportant une couche supérieure d'acquisition/distribution et une couche inférieure de stockage.
