An absorbent article includes a generally reduced length absorbent assembly positioned between a moisture barrier and a bodyside liner. The moisture barrier and the bodyside liner extend beyond the absorbent assembly and define at least one waist region with a length dimension greater than about 10 centimeters. A moisture control layer is present in from about 25 to 100 percent of the area of the first waist region. The moisture control layer is configured to accommodate liquid that may be present in the waist region as a result of condensation or perspiration and also limit the transport of liquid from the absorbent assembly into the waist region.

L'article absorbant comprend un élément absorbant d'une longueur généralement faible, placé entre une couche imperméable aux fluides et une couche venant en contact avec le corps. La couche imperméable aux fluides et la couche en contact avec le corps s'étendent au-delà de l'élément absorbant et forment au moins une partie venant se placer au niveau de la taille d'une longueur supérieure à 10 centimètres environ. Une couche anti-humidité couvre entre 25 % environ et 100 % de la partie venant se placer au niveau de la taille. Cette couche est prévue pour retenir les fluides qui pourraient apparaître dans la région de la taille par suite de condensations ou de transpiration, et également pour limiter la montée de fluides de l'élément absorbant vers la région de la taille.
