The invention relates to an absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin, an incontinence guard, or a panty-liner, which article has a generally elongated shape with a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction and exhibits two side edges (9, 10), two end portions (6, 7), and a crotch portion (8) located between the end portions (6, 7), which article further exhibits a liquid-pervious cover layer (2), intended to be facing the user during use, and a liquid-impervious cover layer (3), intended to be facing away from the user during use. The article comprises at least within the crotch portion (8) a stiffening element (15) of a material with a very high intrinsic stiffness, whereby the article in the crotch portion (8) has an extension in the transverse direction which during use of the article is between 40 mm and 15 mm and preferably is between 20 mm and 35 mm.
La présente invention concerne un article absorbant tel qu'une serviette hygiénique, une protection contre l'incontinence ou une garniture de slip. Cet article, qui présente une forme allongée caractérisée par un axe longitudinal et un axe transversal, comporte deux bords latéraux (9, 10) et est constitué de deux zones d'extrémité (6, 7) réunies par la zone d'entrejambe (8). Cet article comporte en outre, d'une part une couche de couverture (2) perméable aux liquides tournée vers l'utilisateur pendant l'utilisation, et d'autre part une couche de couverture (3) imperméable aux liquides et qui n'est pas tournée vers l'utilisateur pendant l'utilisation. L'article comporte au moins, dans la zone d'entrejambe (8), un raidisseur (15) fait d'un matériau dont la rigidité intrinsèque est très élevée. Il en résulte pour l'article, au niveau de la zone d'entrejambe (8), une extension selon l'axe transversal comprise entre 40 mm et 15 mm, et de préférence entre 20 mm et 35 mm, pendant l'utilisation de l'article.
