According to one embodiment, an absorbent article includes a moisture-impervious outer layer, an inner layer substantially co-extensive with the outer layer, and an absorbent layer interposed between the outer layer and the inner layer. The inner layer is treated with at one least substance including dimethicone and/or at least one antimicrobial booster. The absorbent layer is treated with at least one antimicrobial agent.

La présente invention concerne, par l'un de ses modes de réalisation, un article absorbant comportant une couche extérieure imperméable à l'eau, une couche intérieure sensiblement coextensive à la couche extérieure, et une couche absorbante intercalée entre la couche extérieure et la couche intérieure. La couche intérieure est traitée au moyen d'au moins une substance incluant du diméticone, aussi appelé "polysilane", et/ou au moins un renforçateur de l'action antimicrobienne. La couche absorbante est traitée au moyen d'au moins un antimicrobien.
