Disclosed are absorbent cores for inclusion in absorbent articles such as diapers, incontinent briefs, training pants, diaper holders and liners, feminine hygiene garments, and the like, designed to provide improved fit and comfort for the wearer while adequately containing body exudates. The absorbent cores are designed to be relatively narrow in the crotch region of the article, even when the core absorbs significant amounts of fluid during use. To achieve this, the absorbent core is designed such that fluid is moved substantially from the crotch region to the front and/or rear regions of the article. The invention particularly relates to an absorbent article comprising an absorbent core wherein the absorbent core has a crotch width when dry and when wet of not more than about 7 cm, and wherein the crotch region of the absorbent core has a capacity of not more than about 40 % of the absorbent core's total absorbent capacity.
La présente invention concerne des noyaux absorbants destinés à être insérés dans des articles absorbants tels que les couches pour bébé, les protections contre l'incontinence, les culottes de propreté, les supports et les garnitures de couche, les serviettes hygiéniques et articles similaires, lesquels noyaux absorbants sont conçus pour améliorer le confort et l'ajustement au corps de l'utilisateur tout en retenant de façon adéquate les écoulements corporels. Ces noyaux absorbants sont conçus de manière qu'ils sont relativement étroits dans la zone d'entrejambes de l'article, même lorsque le noyau absorbe une importante quantité de fluide au cours de l'utilisation. A cette fin, le noyau absorbant est conçu de manière que le fluide se déplace dans une large mesure depuis la zone de l'entrejambes vers la zone avant et/ou arrière de l'article. L'invention se rapporte en particulier à un article absorbant comprenant un noyau absorbant dont la zone d'entrejambes présente, à l'état mouillé comme à l'état sec, une largeur inférieure ou égale à 7 cm environ et une capacité inférieure ou égale à 40 % de la capacité d'absorption totale du noyau absorbant.
