A catamenial absorbent device for insertion into a vaginal cavity having two portions: an overwrap containing an absorbent structure. The overwrap has two portions: a lower, fluid impermeable barrier, an upper, fluid-permeable overwrap, and the absorbent structure contains absorbent material therein. The two portions of the overwrap are made from dissimilar materials, which are joined at a junction.

L'invention concerne un dispositif absorbant cataménial destiné à être inséré dans une cavité vaginale, ledit dispositif présentant deux parties dont une surenveloppe contenant une structure absorbante. Ladite surenveloppe présente également deux parties ; une barrière inférieure imperméable aux fluides, et une surenveloppe supérieure perméable aux fluides, la structure absorbante de la surenveloppe contenant un matériau absorbant. Les deux parties de la surenveloppe sont constituées de matériaux différents assemblés au niveau d'une jonction.
