ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE "ABSORBENT PAPERS" An absorbent paper is formed from 5 - 95% by weight of insoluble amino-formaldehyde resin fibres of 1 - 10 mm length and 1 - 30 µm diameter and correspond- ingly 95 - 5% cellulose pulp. Where the Canadian Standard Freeness of the cellulose pulp is below 310 x + 140 ml. (where x is the proportion of lignin free pulp in the cellulose pulp) the proportion of amino-formaldehyde fibres is such that the blend has a freeness above 220 x + 400 ml. The paper may be made by forming an aqueous slurry of the fibrous constituents into sheet form fol- lowed by dewatering.
