ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: An elongated absorber plate, which is stationarily mounted in a gap between two fuel assemblies in a reactor core, comprises a plurality of absorber channels which are filled with a burnable absorber material. The channels are formed by welding to each other two confronting sheet elements of which at least one is corrugated.
