Stray light incident upon a surface of an optical component is absorbed without reflection, scatter or transmission. A layer of a light absorbing materials is placed upon the surface and the coated optical component is attached to the mount. The absorbing layer has a layer refractive index n L and an extinction coefficient k. The mount and absorbing layer have mount refractive index n m and layer refractive index n L and an extinction coefficient k such that light of the selected optical wavelength incident upon the absorbing layer from within the optical component is absorbed without reflection.

La lumière parasite qui frappe une surface d'un élément optique est absorbée sans réflexion, diffusion ou transmission. Une couche de matériaux absorbant la lumière est déposée sur la surface de l'élément optique, lequel est fixé au support. Cette couche absorbante a un indice de réfraction nL et un coefficient d'absorption k. Le support et la couche absorbante ont respectivement des indices de réfraction nm et nL et un coefficient d'absorption k tels que la lumière ayant la longueur d'onde approprié qui, de l'intérieur de l'élément optique, vient frapper la couche absorbante, est absorbée sans réflexion.
