A method of applying an organic acid reagent having limited transolubility in organic solvents, aqueous solvents, and mixtures thereof to a component of a diagnostic test device by mixing an organic acid reagent and an amine to form a salt complex, dissolving the salt complex in a solvent to release the organic acid reagent into the solvent, and applying the solvent to the component of the diagnostic test device such that the organic acid reagent present in the solvent becomes integrated into the diagnostic test device. The amine is represented by the formula HmNRn wherein m is 0, 1, or 2; n is 1, 2, or 3; the sum of m and n is 3; and R is an independently selected group which renders the salt complex soluble in aqueous solvents, organic solvents, or mixtures thereof. The amine is also represented by the formula NR4+ wherein R is an independently selected group which renders the salt complex soluble in aqueous solvents, organic solvents, or mixtures thereof. The organic acid reagent is selected from a carboxylic acid, a sulfonic acid, a phosphoric acid, and mixtures thereof. Preferred reagents are dyes like pyragallol red. In a specific embodiment the diagnostic test device is a paper test strip.
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à appliquer un réactif d'acide organique sur un composant d'un dispositif de test de diagnostic, ledit réactif présentant une solubilité limitée dans les solvants organiques, les solvants aqueux et des mélanges correspondants. Ce procédé consiste à mélanger un réactif d'acide organique et une amine de façon à former un complexe de sels, à dissoudre ce complexe de sels dans un solvant de manière à libérer le réactif d'acide organique dans le solvant, puis à appliquer ledit solvant sur le composant du dispositif de test de diagnostic de sorte à intégrer le réactif d'acide organique présent dans le solvant dans le dispositif de test de diagnostic. L'amine est représentée par la formule H¿m?NR¿n?, dans laquelle m vaut 0, 1 ou 2, n vaut 1, 2 ou 3, la somme de m et n vaut 3, et R est un groupe choisi indépendamment rendant le complexe de sels soluble dans les solvants aqueux, les solvants organiques ou des mélanges correspondants. Cette amine est également représentée par la formule NR¿4??+¿, dans laquelle R est un groupe choisi indépendamment rendant le complexe de sels soluble dans les solvants aqueux, les solvants organiques ou des mélanges correspondants. Le réactif d'acide organique est choisi parmi un acide carboxylique, un acide sulfonique, un acide phosphorique et des mélanges correspondants. Les réactifs préférés sont les colorants tels que le rouge pyrogallol. Dans un mode de réalisation spécifique, le dispositif de test de diagnostic est une bande de test en papier.
