The present invention is directed to an ophthalmic solution for soft contact lenses for controlled release of polyethers into an eye's tear film. Polyether components of the subject ophthalmic solution are released from the soft contact lens material matrix over long time periods to produce longer lasting wetting performance, improved lubricity, improved end-of-the-day comfort and reduced feeling of dryness from wearing contact lenses.

La présente invention concerne une solution ophtalmique pour lentilles de contact souples permettant la libération contrôlée de polyéthers dans un film lacrymal de l'oeil. Les constituants polyéthers de la solution ophtalmique selon l'invention sont libérés à partir de la matrice du matériau de lentille de contact souple sur de longues durées, ce qui permet d'obtenir des performances d'humidification pendant plus longtemps, un pouvoir lubrifiant amélioré, un confort en fin de journée amélioré et une sensation réduite de sécheresse par rapport au port de lentilles de contact.
