A crossing lights controller for effecting operation of the crossing lights during normal train operating conditions and during a controller failure mode includes a train sensing input, a lights control circuit, a solid state logic and monitor circuit, an independent source of both AC and DC power, and a fail-safe relay. The train sensing input provides one signal condition when the approach of a train is sensed and another signal condition when no train is sensed. The lights control circuit has power supplied thereto to operate the lights in a flashing condition when the train sensing input indicates the approach of a train. The solid state logic and monitor circuit is connected to the input circuit and the lights control circuit and applies and removes power to the lights control circuit in accordance with signals at the input. The fail-safe relay is connected to the logic and monitor circuit and the lights control circuit, with the fail-safe relay automatically connecting the independent source of both AC and DC power to operate the lights in the event no power is supplied to the fail-safe relay.
Cette invention concerne un contrôleur de feux de protection de passages à niveau conçu pour commander lesdits feux en conditions normales de trafic ferroviaire et en conditions d'anomalie de fonctionnement. Il comprend un détecteur d'approche de train, un circuit de commande des feux., un circuit logique et de contrôle à microcalculateur, une source indépendante d'alimentation en c.a. et en c.c. et un relais à sûreté intégrée. Le détecteur d'approche de train émet un signal caractéristique à l'approche d'un train et un autre signal caractéristique en l'absence de train. Le circuit de commande des feux est alimenté en courant pour faire clignoter les feux lorsque l'approche d'un train est détectée par le détecteur. Le circuit logique et de contrôle à microcalculateur raccordé au circuit de réception de signal et au circuit de commande des feux commande choisit d'alimenter ou non ce dernier circuit selon le signal reçu. Le relais à sûreté intégrée est raccordé au circuit logique et de contrôle à microcalculateur et au circuit de commande des feux de manière assurer automatiquement l'alimentation des feux à partir des sources indépendantes de c.a. et de c.c. lorsque sa propre alimentation n'est plus assurée.
