ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A generator referenced to the frequency of the alternating current of a public utility. The generator has an annular exciter stator including a plurality of exciter eletromagnetic poles connected for excitation by the alter- nating current for producing a first magnetic vector at an angle rate corresponding to the frequency of the alternating current. The excitor stator includes a rotary mounting for angular alignment and an arcuate rack formed on the exterior. An exciter rotor is mounted for rotation on the interior of the exciter stator. The exciter rotor includes a plurality of electromagnet exciter inductors conformed for inductive coupling with the exciter poles for producing an excited current on the poles of a phase and frequency corresponding to the summation of the angular rate of the first magnet vector and the rotational rate of the exciter rotor. A generating rotor is connected for common rotation with the exciter rotor. The generating rotor includes a plurality of electromagnetic generating inductors corresponding to the exciter inductors. It is connected in opposite alignment with the inductors. The generating inductors are displaced in angle relative to the exciter inductors so that a second magnetic vector of opposite angular rate to that of the exciting current is produced by the generating inductors. An angular generating stator surrounds the generating rotor. The generating stator includes a plurality of electromag- netic generating poles aligned for electromagnetic induction by the advance of the magnetic vector on its interior. A power source is connected for angular advancement of the exciter and generating rotor. A servo motor is connected for engagement with the rack for angular advancement of the stator. A phase comparator is connected to the alternating current and to the signal induced on the generating poles for advancing the servo motor in rotation according to the phase difference therebetween.
