L'invention concerne un procédé d'isolement de ces gènes de biosynthèse, les protéines codées par lesdits gènes, l'expression des protéines dans des souches-hôtes hétérologues et l'utilisation des gènes de biosynthèse d'acarbose pour optimiser le procédé.
