ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The disclosure relates to a topical composition having an acaricidal and ovicidal activity, containing a compound of the formula: C6H5 - ? - S - R in which R represents an actyl or phenyl radical, as active ingredient together with a suitable vehicle or excipient. The topical composition can be used for the treatment of itch in human beings, for the treatment of ticks on animals, for the treatment of mites on plants, for the treatment of mites on fruit trees. The topical composition may be in the form of an ointment containing an active compound of the above formula, as well as an ointment excipient.
