ABSTRACT This invention relates to novel compounds which are ACAT inhibitors rendering them useful in lowering blood cholesterol levels. The compounds are carbamates represented by the general formula Image wherein Ar and Ar' represent phenyl, naphthyl or heteroaryl, each of which may be substituted; Z and W are hydrogen, aliphatic hydrocarbon, heterocyclic, aryl or carbocyclic containing groups.
